this woman damaged her skin by extensive bike riding without proper protection (sun screen, gloves, etc)
how can she make her hands look and feel younger, softer and generally better?
Answer: There are some great hand creams out there. Look for thick formulas with things like vitamin E. Those developed for people who ride horses are really great. or, “The Body Shop' makes some great body butters and lotions especially for very dry skin which can be used on hands.
To get rid of rough excess skin, you could use a body scrub with granules in it, and use it as you would when washing hands with hand-soap (as in, rub your hands together, in between your fingers etc). Just make sure you do not do this too vigorously as it can damage your skin, and moisturize after drying your hands.
Make sure your hands are not wet for extended periods of time (e.g. when hand-washing and doing housework, use rubber gloves to protect your hands from cracking and drying)
Put thick moisturizer containing vitamin E (or just use vaseline) liberally on both sides of hands, and then place cotton gloves over them when going to bed. Do this until your hands improve.
